Susan Bryk says: " Ladies' fastball ran in Atikokan from the late 1940's until (and including) 1989. Approximately 100 people returned to Atikokan for a reunion held over (August 4-5-6, 2017). Friday was a get-together night including a memorial walk from the Legion to the ballpark. Saturday and Sunday, approximately half of the group participated in a ball game. There were nine women that had played ball in the 1940's and/or 1950's. In the Saturday game, four of these women, and the Sunday game, three of them participated. The oldest was Doreen Carragher (88) who played both days; Stella (Carpenter) McIntyre (approx. 84-86) played both days; Flo Fairbairn (80-ish) played Saturday and Bertha (Carpenter) Blacksher (77) played both days. "
