ATIKOKAN ONTARIO

Atikokan Photos From Rod McIntyre's Collection.

Old buildings on Front Street, Atikokan

The Facebook opinion is that this is on Front Street. The small bakery was Rostie's, which later moved to the larger building to the left.

Rod McIntyre says: "It looks like the old Jen's Woman’s Clothing Store and the Van Lindonk Bakery at the corner of O'Brien and Poplar near the Lutheran Church, but not sure".

Possibly Kaskie Store in Atikokan

The man might be Mr. Kaskie. Compare photo to the one above. The undamaged trim above new steps could mean this is an older photo. Or trim & steps could have been repaired & replaced. Rod McIntyre says: "Kaskie Store on West Mackenzie near old church at corner of Marks Street." Susan Bryk says: "Martin's Pool Hall on MacKenzie before it was added on to".

Atikokan Red Cross Hospital

The Atikokan Red Cross Hospital on MacKenzie. It closed at the end of 1949 and moved to the new hospital on Hematite.
