In his email to me which contained these photos, Tony Hlady said the date of 1953 is written on the back of the prints. But several people on Facebook pointed out that the truck in the top two photos is a 1955 model, (wrap-around windshield, etc.) So the photos may not have all been taken at the same time. The jury is still out deciding the actual opening day of the Rockton – was it 1955 or 1953 or ??
Tony Hlady says: "The back of the photo says that this was taken on opening day 1953, with 200 yards of gravel to be moved. " But the truck is a 1955 model (see comment at the top of this page).
This seems to be opening day as well.
